Since 1963 serving Algerian maritime trade in the Mediterranean.
CNAN MED SPA was established on January 2, 2005, following the restructuring of the Algerian National Navigation Company (CNAN Group SPA), as a subsidiary to operate vessels for maritime cargo transport in the Mediterranean.
On December 2, 2006, CNAN MED became an independent shipowner following the resolution of the State Participation Council No. 06/71/16/09/2006.
In June 2008, CNAN MED became a mixed-capital company following the transfer of 49% of shares to Italian company DARIO PERIOLI, which was entrusted with management through the Managing Director.
In April 2017, CNAN GROUP SPA transferred its 51% stake in CNAN MED SPA to the GATMA group (formerly SGP Maritime Transport Management GESTRAMAR).

CNAN MED operates 5 vessels under the ALGERIAN NATIONAL FLAG: 3 container ships (Djanet, Cirta and Tamanrasset) and 2 general cargo vessels (Gouraya, Titteri). The market zone covers the entire Western Mediterranean.

3 Regular Services in the Mediterranean
In addition, CNAN MED regularly serves the Algerian ports of Annaba, Arzew and Mostaganem on request.
